I just thought a client severly underpaid (by over $100,000) on their account based on a completely erroneous invoice I created, but it was just underpaid by less than $2.00.
THIS is why I don't do math.
And to all the kids at home: YES! YOU DO NEED MATH!! IT WILL BE HANDY WHEN YOU GROW UP. Don't ever brush off your math teacher, or you will be like me and see two dollar figures and it will blow your mind that they don't look the same therefore they must be two completely different numbers, when in actuality, they are just off by less than $2.00.
Goldie: making basic math errors since 1984. It's hard work, but someone has to eff-up addition and subtraction.
FYI - I just had to put together an insurance policy for a golf tournament. All I needed to do was calculate a 15 yard advantage for women vs. men. It took a good 20 minutes and my drawing a multi-colored diagram before I figured it out.
I'm bad at math.
My lack of math skillz are reflected in the accounting I have to do at work.
I've been working here for 3.5 years and I still have accounting issues.
I just did a mini-project that involved accounting/math and the company accountant sent me an email saying, "You're getting good at this." Then he called and said that I'm getting good because I don't have crutches to lean on (there were some more-experienced folks working here in the last 2 years that I worked under. They left, so it's just been me).
It was nice to hear.
