QotD: Not Funny

What, if anything, is not okay to joke about?

I am a firm believer that most anything, in hindsight, has been made funny by someone.

Things that are sensitive to people. Historic events. Race stuff. ALL of it. It might make you cringe, but people can say things to make things funny. I mean. There's things I WON'T say or joke about, but people can make things funny. I will leave that there.

The one thing, though, that I know you can't joke about without getting the crap knocked out of you is someone's mother.

As in: YO MAMA.

Now. As the onlooker, yo mama jokes are HELLA funny. But the person on the receiving end of a yo mama joke will pretty much ALWAYS be ready to knock someone out.

And now, my favorite yo mama joke:

Yo mama's so ugly, they renamed Halloween, YoMamaWeen.

As funny as it is, I wouldn't use it one someone unless they were smaller than me. Or had no appendages or a reaching stick.

That last line here made me laugh. A lot.

I never got the yo mama jokes. KIds always said them, but I thought they were just a waste. :)

okay, that mama joke is funny :-)

i've watched it more than a dozen times already on tv, films, etc but never a chance to hear something like that (mama jokes) here.

yep, you are right. as an onlooker, it IS funny; but i guess, if it goes on being said to me, that'll be a different story --- tsk. humans!

(my friends and i once tried to make mama jokes, but it just won't do. :-\)
